Why does Cmd-A type “a” in Fuzzy Mode?

Fuzzy Mode is not a normal text field. It is a command query for matching catalog items.

There is no insertion cursor or text selection range, so shortcuts like ⌘+A, ⌃+A, and ⌃+E do not mean “select all” or “move to start/end of line” there.

Use Text Mode when you want normal text editing behavior.

How do I search Google?

Create a Smart Links entry:

Name	Template
Google Search	https://www.google.com/search?q={{input}}

Then either:

• pick Google Search, choose Open Smart Link…, and type the search
• start in Text Mode, type the search, then use Send to Smart Link…

• add folders you use often in Settings -> Library -> Indexed Folders
• use Fuzzy Mode when the file should be in Tuna’s normal index
• use Spotlight Search For… or Spotlight Search In… for one-off scoped searches
• use Smart Folders for searches you repeat

How do I get the current text selection?

Recommended: select text in another app and run the macOS Stage in Tuna service with ⌘+⎋.

You can also open Tuna and use Current Text Selection, or press ⌘+G while Tuna is open to grab the current selection into the focused pane. Tuna needs Accessibility permission for selected text from other apps.

How do I get the current Finder selection?

Recommended: select files or folders in Finder and run the macOS Stage in Tuna service with ⌘+⎋.

You can also open Tuna and use Current Finder Selection. The generic Current Selection item returns Finder’s selection when Finder is active, and ⌘+G can grab it into the focused pane. macOS may ask for Finder automation permission.
