Agent Skill
Give your coding assistant a small guide to configuring your installed Tuna app. The tuna skill covers configuration files and custom folders, CLI setup and checks, sources and extensions, command composition, hotkeys, Combo Mode, Smart Links, and custom scripts. You do not need Tuna’s source code or Xcode.
Install
With a current Node.js LTS release and npm installed (Skills CLI currently requires Node.js 22.20 or later), run:
npx skills@latest add https://tunaformac.com --skill tuna --global
The Skills CLI lets you choose which supported assistants to install it
for. --global installs at user level so the skill is available outside a particular project;
omit it for a project-local install. Restart your assistant session if it does not discover the
new skill immediately.
To preview discovery without installing:
npx skills@latest add https://tunaformac.com --list
You can also read or download SKILL.md and put it in a tuna/
folder in your assistant’s skill directory. Follow your assistant’s instructions for that location.
Use
Try asking: “Use the Tuna skill to add a Smart Link and a Combo Mode binding without changing my other settings,” or “Check whether my Tuna CLI is installed and enabled.”
The skill teaches the assistant to discover your active configuration, preserve existing values, back up before edits, and reload and check the result. It does not grant access to your Mac, enable the CLI, or install Tuna extensions. Review proposed edits and commands; scripts and commands can affect files or other apps.
For manual setup, see Configuration, Tuna CLI, and Custom Scripts and Script Directories.
