Search Scoring
Tuna scores search results by combining the text you typed with what you have chosen before.
String Match
The typed letters must appear in order in the result name or search keys.
Tuna gives more weight to matches at word starts, camel-case starts, and adjacent letters. So fcp can match Final Cut Pro, and fcut can match Final Cut Pro.
Learning
When you run a result, Tuna remembers the query you used.
If you run Final Cut Pro with fc, future fc searches prefer Final Cut Pro. Longer compatible queries, like fcp or fcut, can inherit that preference too.
Single-letter choices stay single-letter, so broad shortcuts like t remain contained.
Aliases
Aliases are explicit names you assign to a result. They rank strongly and are useful for abbreviations you want to be stable.
See Learning, Aliases, and Defaults for managing learning and aliases.
